Pt. 2 Leveling Up - Internal Dialogue
Most people love the feeling of accomplishment. Progress, motivation, and challenges lead to leveling up and the reward for our investment brings us to the life we’ve always wanted. Here are some more nuggets of wisdom that have really inspired us in our journey, and highly affected our relationships.
#5 Intentionalize your internal dialogue
Don’t listen to yourself, talk to yourself.
Life is shaped by your thoughts, so changing your thoughts hugely affects your relationships. Understanding the creative power of our thoughts as they’re aligned with God’s thoughts is a game-changer and it’s a developed skill worth pursuing!
Thoughts are governed by the law of sowing and reaping. I don’t think we fully understand that as definite as the law of mathematics, the law of electricity, or the law of gravity, everything works in exact accordance with the law of thought.
When we begin to understand that happiness, health, success, prosperity, and every other condition or environment are results and that these results are created by right and aligned thinking, either consciously or unconsciously, we will realize the importance of understanding and gaining knowledge and experience and skill when it comes to governing thought.
Making assumptions when you’re offended, hurt, or discouraged are opinions, they are not facts or truth. Research says that we can speak 150-200 words per minute, but we can think 1300 words per minute. Reigning in our thoughts, and even the speed of our thoughts is a powerful practice. When you use your physical voice, your thoughts stop and listen.
To improve our conditions and our relationships, we must first improve our alignment to think like God. Our thoughts and desires will be the first to show progress and alignment with heaven.
#6 Ask for God’s perspective
God has an opinion and you are connected to Him to create with him. You have greatness inside of you…you are not alone…you have an advocate. Every time we humble ourselves and ask and are teachable, we open the gateway to hearing God’s perspective.
Ask yourself, “Am I really teachable?”
All good advice in the world won’t help if you don’t have a teachable spirit. To know whether you are really open to new ideas and new ways of doing things, ask yourself the following questions:
Am I open to other people’s ideas?
Do I listen more than I talk?
Am I open to changing m opinion based on new information?
Do I readily admit when I am wrong?
Do I observe before acting on a situation?
Do I ask questions?
Am I willing to ask a question that will expose my ignorance?
Am I open to doing things in a way I haven’t done before?
Am I willing to ask for direction?
Do I act defensively when criticized, or do I listen openly for truth?
#7 Everything has something to teach me
Every circumstance, every person, and every situation has a golden seed, that is, a nugget of treasure that has the potential to level you up. We attain wisdom through experience. We can overcome our weaknesses, and, through victorious experience, attain wisdom.
Will you be overwhelmed, or be an overcomer?
We can’t get this wisdom by giving in to the difficulties of life, but by overcoming them.
The majority of people are drifters on the sea of life tossed to and fro by every current that comes their way. It is only the few who realize that they have the power of God and the invitation to co-create with him - so we can rise above our difficulties.
Trouble comes to all, but it can make you stronger.
Trouble comes to all, and knocks on our door, it makes some people stronger and better in every way, and it submerges others into despair. The trouble is the same, it is how it is met that makes the difference.
Leveling up and having joy and peace in your heart depends on how the troubles and difficulties of life are met. Adversity comes to all, but if it is met in the right manner even failure can be made the stepping stone to success.
Those who meet difficulty and adversity with mere human strength are overwhelmed and broken by the storms of life. But those who rely on God’s Power within them can never be overwhelmed, neither can they ever be defeated.
Sweet and Simple
Most desire a life that is sweet and simple, but the paradox is, if we look for happiness we won’t find it, yet if we seek wisdom, and his Kingdom, happiness finds us! A sweet and simple life is developed by using every circumstance as a leveling-up opportunity for wisdom resulting in strong character.
Imagine witnessing a person’s life that may not look easy in reality, but for some odd reason, it appears to be so sweet and simple because of how strong that person is!
In the learning process, always apply action, notice and evaluate, and then don’t quit.
#8 Draw energy from the beauty around you
Many people are exhausted, tired, and worn out. We must recognize the energy sources available to us, and receive rejuvenation and refreshing as much as possible! Imagine feeling strong, vibrant, and full of energy…can you imagine how this would affect your relationships?
Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, but it also contributes to your physical well-being, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones. Being outside in nature makes people feel more alive, and close to God. If you can’t go outside, look at nature shows, and photos or close your eyes and imagine beautiful places. Deep down you are craving this energy source!
You will find what you’re looking for, so consider looking for beauty in everything and everyone.
