A really good talk with God
Conversations with God about your relationships can be the most energizing and valuable encounters. Nothing feels better than a really good talk with someone who loves, cares, and is willing to understand what you’re thinking and possibly going through. Being understood and gently guided along in a better direction brings a lot of peace. It’s always the perfect time to engage in conversation with God.
Benefits and rewards of conversing with God:
Access. A divine opportunity is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Access to the One who will not only listen to your heart but also offer solutions that will transform your life your family and your friendships.
Download. Engaging in conversation with God gets you to a safe place where you’re allowed to download our frustrations, offenses, and confusion. This releases the valve of disempowering emotions and brings you to a neutral place where you can receive that new point of view.
Encouragement. After spending time connecting to God, you begin to trust him implicitly and allow Him access to your heart. The invitation remains for you to rest deeply in His goodness, and His desire to benefit your life and the lives of those you love.
Prayer is not:
Hard. Praying for your relationships never needs to be difficult or strenuous. This isn’t time to receive a burden or heaviness, but rather release it! Circumstances and challenges can overtake you, but prayer isn’t focusing on the worst-case scenario. On the contrary, your connection point with God brings you to intimacy with your Father in Heaven who cares deeply about what happens to you.
Rules. Life isn’t predictable, and making prayer an obligatory discipline can be a wonderful habit, and we encourage that, but a natural conversation with God takes place in your heart and thoughts all day long.
Instead of being overwhelmed with people around you who are hurting you, or people you love making destructive choices, remember that God isn’t freaked out or in a panic. He desires to love that person, and the most effective way you can pray is to ask God: “Where are you with them right now?”
Visualizing God with others brings reassurance, and peace and takes the pressure off of you being their source. Continue to love the unlovable and forgive those who (you believe) deserve punishment. There are two parallel realities. The reality of what you see with your eyes, and the reality of how God sees your situation.
Don’t underestimate the power of writing down your conversations with God. This helps organize your thoughts and effectively write the truth upon your heart. Write down what you’re thankful for. Write down that person’s best attributes and strengths.
Our prayer is that you’ll see others through God’s eyes and be influenced by His opinions of them. The more you hang out with God and have great talks together, the more clearly you’ll hear His voice and experience rest for your soul and experience renewed joy as your strength.
