Depending on God

When it comes to relationships, we would love to be high-functioning all the time with incredible strength to respond in love.  However, there are times when we simply feel weak, tired, and depleted.  Those are the times we remember: When we are weak, He is strong.  We are invited to lean on God and renew our strength. You’re not alone.

After so much emphasis on respond-ability, and taking personal responsibility for your choices and direction in life, we have come to understand that there are times when we simply crave rest and need to receive.  It’s the opposite side of the same coin!  That’s when we develop our ability to depend on Him and stop depending on our human strength. Depend-ability.

Jesus loved to heal those in need.  When the ten lepers asked for mercy, He healed them and instructed them to go and show the priests.  They did, but then something special happened. One of the lepers felt compelled to go back and find Jesus to thank Him.  Jesus said, “Your faith has made you well”.  Not only was the tenth leper healed, but he was also made “well”.   There is wellness of our full being that happens when we have hearts overflowing with gratitude.

What story are you telling yourself as you face tired seasons?  Smiling and thanking God changes everything, and learning to depend on God is the best place to receive comfort and strength. He knows everything about you and what you are going through.   He understands what you need.  As you lean on him, prepare for new beginnings because your life will just keep getting better and better.
