Relationships create music
Heavenly Harmony: What does it mean for me?
What are God’s design and dream for relationships? It’s simple, sweet and beautifully compelling: To live in harmony. In fact, the Bible makes it clear that it is truly wonderful and delightful when we live together in unity. Heavenly harmony is compared to dew that trips down from the skies and refreshes the mountains. And from this realm of sweet harmony, God releases His promises, blessing, and favor.
Harmony is a musical term when there’s a combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce chords and chord progressions having a pleasing effect. Harmony is the sound of things that go together well — people singing in harmony are in tune with each other. ... It's necessary to be able to live in harmony in order to enjoy relationships.
“Since God uses a musical term to inspire us to enjoy each other, it’s worth digging deeper into how this works so we can apply it to our lives! “
Music is the language of the heart. Beyond technicalities and logic, there is depth and understanding that transcends the external and gives glimpses of the invisible and eternal. The whimsical wonder of wisdom is weaved throughout your expression each day. That's why we want to call the design of your personality...Your Song.
Your life could be likened to a sheet of music. You are an organized pattern and combination of notes and rhythm that reacts and responds throughout every day, creating a lifetime of composition. With every moment you live, a continuum of melody flows and vibrates with breath, and influence, traveling through time making memories and anticipating the future.
There is no song exactly like yours. You are wildly beautiful and a unique expression of God's nature and character. As God longs to reveal himself to this world, He lives in you, expressing Himself through you. The message of an angry God is not the gospel and it is not true. God is love. To the degree, we feel loved by God is the degree that we feel valuable, precious and held in high regard. The song you sing is found in harmony with the extravagance of love God has for you.
In a marriage relationship, two melodies are heard simultaneously. They are completely separate and unique, yet when played together, they create music. How do your relationships work best? When each person is both aware of their song and attuned to the other. The ebb and flow and crescendos and dynamics are all part of the music that you bring to the world.
What gifts can you bring to your relationship? We can think of three that become game-changers:
Steadfast: Being consistent, faithful and trustworthy
Source: Knowing that your true source is God, and it is only He who truly satisfies
Song: Learning the song you were born to sing
The reason we are so passionate about you and your song is that we don't want you to waste one more day working hard and trying with an effort to fulfill your calling just to come up short. That's what we did for much of our lives. When you're doing your best to live life and it doesn't seem to be enough, you can fall into despair and defeat. We want you to enjoy your life, know your song and live in harmony with one another. There’s no greater love!
