Pt. 4 Leveling Up - Simple is Sweet
Wisdom is your superpower combination of knowledge, experience, and insight. It is a reflection of the lessons we learn throughout our lives and the understanding that comes from our experiences. It’s the ability to apply that knowledge and experience to our lives in order to enjoy a great life with healthy relationships.
During our Leveling-up series, we are sharing personal nuggets of wisdom that have the potential to help you better manage your emotions, reduce stress, and build better relationships. While wisdom can be difficult to acquire, the effort is often well worth it. The value of wisdom is immense and can bring a great deal of joy and fulfillment to our lives. Wisdom is leveling up!
#11 Keep it light
While it is important to stay goal-oriented, it is equally important to not take life too seriously. Don’t let fear, stress, or anxiety keep you from doing the things that make you happy. Remember to take a deep breath, let go of whatever is holding you back and trust that you can handle whatever life throws your way. Sometimes it is necessary to take a break from life, to step away and reflect.
Sometimes we presume that being spiritual means we have to be more serious. Life is short and it is often easy to forget that. The key to a joy-filled and peaceful life is to keep it loose and enjoy the moments without taking life so seriously. Life should be enjoyed, it should not be a burden!
Keeping it loose allows you to appreciate the present moment, instead of worrying about what’s to come or what’s already happened. It allows you to relax and be in the moment. Taking things one step at a time and savoring the little moments, rather than rushing through them, can make all the difference.
“Be still and know that He is God” is sometimes easier said than done. It can be hard to quiet our minds because we are constantly exposed to so many external influences and distractions. Our minds are constantly filled with thoughts, worries, and anxieties. It can be difficult to silence the "chatter" in our heads and make space for stillness and peace.
The main message in the story of Mary and Martha is that it is important to prioritize what matters most in life. Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to him, while Martha chose to be busy with her household tasks. Jesus praised Mary for her choice, showing that it is more important to spend time in prayer and devotion than to be focused on the mundane tasks of life.
#12 Live to give
Living to give is an idea that has been around for a long time, but it is especially pertinent today. The idea of living to give means to put the needs of others first and to actively show compassion for those around you. It is about finding joy in helping others and finding ways to make a difference in the lives of those around you.
Living to give is something that everyone can do, regardless of circumstance or income level. It just takes some intention and creativity. People feel valued in the small things, giving encouragement and compliments and smiles can make a big difference.
Giving can be a very rewarding experience. It can make you feel good because it's an act of selflessness and it helps to make someone else's life a little better. Giving can also boost your self-esteem, as it creates a sense of pride in the fact that you are making a positive difference in someone else's life. It may also provide a sense of purpose or satisfaction knowing that you are making a difference in the world.
#13 Miracles are mine
The power of believing in miracles does not just come from the hope that it brings; it also provides a sense of promise and an anchor to establish beliefs. With God, anything is possible. Faith, simply put, is believing in God and being unmoved by adverse conditions. This brings powerful direction to our thoughts and approach to our day and our relationships.
We love that God is bigger than us. We are limited in our abilities, understanding, and power. We can’t even begin to comprehend God’s greatness, yet we are blessed enough to call him our Father.
The fact that God is bigger than us is a reminder that we are not alone. God knows what we are going through and we can rely on Him for comfort and strength in any situation. This is a source of great hope and peace for us, to know that no matter what, we can always turn to God and He will be there to provide what we need. God’s greatness also leads us in having a higher vantage point and viewing our situation through His eyes.
#14 Simple is sweet
Living a simple life is often overlooked in this day and age. We often strive to have the most money, the newest gadgets, and the nicest things to show off to our friends and family. But what is it that we are really looking for? Is it happiness? Is it satisfaction? The answer is yes, but what we may be doing to achieve this is not necessarily the best way.
Focusing on the best version of ourselves leads to amazing relationships which you will never regret. When we simplify our lives, we are often able to focus on the truly important things. Appreciating the smaller things in life leads to contentment and peace…which is sweet and rewarding.
