The newness of love
God loves to make things new. We are amazed how He creates order in the midst of chaos and breathes life into what was once dead. From seemingly nothingness He creates beauty. Take us for instance. God had this idea - and it was us – you! After considering every elaborate detail, He smiled as He pondered about “when” He would place you in this world. It would be the perfect time of course. Everything about God is perfect. Long before your conception, He knew you. Then from His heart of love, He gave you His very breath for life. That’s the epitome of making something out of nothing!
Now here you are. You have been given this insurmountable gift of life and along the way you’ve made choices (some better than others) yet now you find yourself ready for “new” again. God isn’t disappointed in where you are today; in fact, He revels in the opportunity of making something out of your seeming nothingness. He’s a genius at this! He’s definitely not holding your mistakes and sins against you, because each one is covered and their penalty paid in full through Jesus. He doesn’t just “do” love… He is love.
So here you are…loved. There is a beautiful gift in front of you, begging for you to tear off the exquisite paper and delve into its contents. If you dare to open it, your life will never be the same. It’s the gift of new life. Your immediate response, “Oh, I’ve opened that before. I’ve received new life from Jesus. I’ve been forgiven. I’m going to heaven.” But wait, just a moment! This is the gift of the new day. You’ve never lived this moment before, and how you allow yourself to dream in this present moment in time can redirect your future.
“Begin to reacquaint yourself with the essence of this new day. Recapture the beauty, peace, and joy that it holds. ”
If God truly loves making something out of nothing, then maybe, just maybe He can take your failures, your poor choices and selfish behavior and give you something so wonderful and new that it will exceed your wildest and richest dreams. You are embarking on the adventures of releasing the benefits of the gift of your new day. He gives beauty for ashes. Hope for despair. Peace for confusion. Joy in mourning.
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
That I might sing praises to you and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever!Psalm 30:11–12
Begin to reacquaint yourself with the essence of this new day. Recapture the beauty, peace, and joy that it holds. Let’s not waste another moment wondering if God is here and aware of your circumstances, He knows them full well yearns to fulfill purpose through you. If you want “new” bad enough, your heart will hear His voice far beyond the words you read. Deep down you want everything God has prepared for you. The best part about “new” is that it simply means, “never seen before.” There’s life in you ready to be tapped into – limitless, energized, pure and purposeful life… never seen before. Jesus relates it to a well of rushing waters that never stops. God is capable of invading your seemingly limited world causing his glorious life to flow through you. And that’s a calming reality. Once you tap into that daily flow – get ready to live life to it’s fullest: effortless, enjoyable and highly effective.
